As you step inside the Hope Church sanctuary you will see in the chancel area a beautiful woodcarving of the Lord's Supper. The long table with Jesus and the twelve disciples eating bread and drinking wine is in the front, behind the altar.
The Lord's Supper is framed in a case of scroll-worked wood with long columns on each side topped with angels. It was carved by Alois Lang, ranked as "among the foremost of America's woodcarvers," according to the Holland City News (October 23, 1947).
The carving was donated to Hope Church by Mrs. Albert C. Keppel in memory of her late husband.
