The Hope College Center for Writing and Research will be renamed in honor of the late Professor David J. Klooster, a former member of Hope Church. The new name of the Center will be “The David J. Klooster Center for Excellence in Writing.” This wording reflects Professor Klooster’s long-standing effort to help the campus see the improvement of writing as a lifelong process. It is the hope that the Klooster Center for Excellence in Writing will keep him in our memory, honor his legacy, and remind us of how much good one person can do. A dedicatory ceremony will take place on Friday, April 4 at 3:00 p.m. in Van Wylen Library.
