From the Reformed Church in America:

Dear churches,

The images that we are watching play out before us in South Texas are horrifying. Yet the worst that mother nature can throw at us has also brought out the best in humanity.

Neighbors and strangers alike are helping each other in any way they can. This is encouraging to see, but the needs are still too great for Texans to handle on their own. They desperately need your help.

RCA Global Mission is teaming up with World Renew Disaster Response Services to prepare for the rebuilding effort that lays ahead. To meet immediate needs, we’re providing an initial financial gift to Christ the Redeemer Community Church, an RCA church plant in Houston, to help provide food and shelter for those in urgent need in their neighborhood. We’re also providing resources to another church plant, Carismah Church in Katy, Texas, to provide food, water, and shelter to displaced families nearby. At this point, the best ways for your congregation to help are to pray and to give to the recovery effort.

You can give online here at rca.org or checks can be mailed to: Reformed Church in America, Attn: Finance Dept., 4500 60th St. SE Grand Rapids, MI 49512, or, in Canada, to Regional Synod of Canada, 201 Paradise Rd. N, Hamilton, ON L8S 3T3. Please indicate “Hurricane Harvey” on your check.

Thank you for your support and your prayers.
