2013 Carbon Fast for Lent
Fasting is a well established Christian practice. It represents the voluntary withdrawal from some part of one’s routine life pattern. The dissonance which this choice produces, in turn, creates spiritual space. Here is the place where one hears God’s call anew.
The Caring for Creation Ministry is this year again offering a unique form of fasting, a carbon fast. The format comes to us from Michigan Interfaith Power & Light and calls out energy related items. If you enter into this space you will encounter the deep questions of faith: Who is my neighbor? How much is enough? And In whom do I trust?
