Nestled in a lush, green, vacant lot near 10th Street and Pine, something inspiring  is  growing!  Neighbors have  been  gathering  to  build  and plant a community garden. Folks have signed up to commit to tend their own portion and hopefully get to know the other participants. In return they get to take home or share all of the lovely, organic produce from their own plot however they wish. One gardener, when chatting about day-to-day life commented, “You wanna know something good happening with me? This!”

All of the garden beds are currently claimed, but we would love to have you stop by and see how the gardens are growing, and maybe ‘grow’ a few new acquaintances of your own!

The garden project is coordinated by Neighborhood Connectors, Andrew Spidahl and Janelle Lopez-Koolhaas. Grant funding for the project was given by the Padnos Company and the City of Holland. Washington School Neighbors heartily thanks Hope Church for providing the space for the garden and relationships to flourish.
