redcordStarting January 4 through January 28, Hope Church will have the “Red Ribbons” installation displayed in the ramps to the sanctuary and in the commons.

Red Cord Community
We Pray Your Prayer

Originally created for ArtPrize 2014, this interactive installation was created with the collaboration of individuals from West Michigan and beyond. Approximately 5,000 ribbons contain prayers for survivors of sexual abuse, human trafficking and patriarchy, in general, and for their front-line advocates.

Will you pray our prayer? Read through some prayer ribbons. Does one choose you? Take it and tie it around your wrist, or place it where you where you will see it often. Each time you see it, pray that prayer again.

We’re waiting to pray yours! What is the prayer that rises within you? Are you a survivor, or do you know someone who is? Take a blank ribbon, write your prayer, or just the first name of the survivor/advocate and add it to the installation.

Red Cord Community provides contemplative, compassionate, and creative soul-care in community for anti-human trafficking advocates. We offer soul-care retreats, spiritual direction and consultation for individuals and organizations. We are based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
