Tulip Time is on it’s way, and so is more Dutch organ music!

Some of you may remember that last year, for the first time, Hope Church hosted a Tulip Time organ concert, featuring Rhonda Edgington playing Dutch organ music from the Baroque to modern. This was such a hit, with both the audience and the Tulip Time organizers, that we will again be putting together this event (the second annual, perhaps?)

The concert will take place the first weekend of Tulip Time, on Sunday evening, May 6 at 7pm. Rhonda will be playing music by one of the best-known of Dutch composers, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, from the 17th century, Jan van Eycken from the 19th century, and a few modern Dutch composers, including Ad Wammes (from last year’s concert, you may remember, a classical composer, erstwhile composer of music for Sesame Street, and the performer in a Dutch symphonic rock group, Finch) and Bert Matter. Tickets are for sale from the Tulip Time folks, at their office, or on the website, for $15.

As with last year, if you are interested in attending and don’t wish to pay the fee (because you’re so… Dutch), Rhonda is looking for ushers to help out before the event, taking tickets and passing out programs. You’ll be done in time to hear the entire concert, and will also have Rhonda’s gratitude.

Contact Rhonda (RhondaBSE@gmail.com) to be put on her list of ushers.
