hosted by Hope Church, with Holland UCC, BLVD Church, First Presbyterian, First UMC, Maple Avenue Ministries, Grace Episcopal
During the month of March in the season Lent, you are invited to an individual/group opportunity for challenge and growth in our shared commitment to racial justice. We will use the resources in the 21 Day Racial Equity Challenge, originally developed by Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr., and which has been used extensively in congregations and organizations throughout the country. This resource has been helpfully adapted locally through the United Way (which you can explore through the following link: 21-Day Challenge Catalogue | Greater Ottawa County United Way (ottawaunitedway.org)). This provides daily email content which will be sent by Hope Church to participants to engage with, as well as a daily log for reflection. The Equity Challenge uses teaching, reflection and advocacy to deepen our understanding of and engagement with issues of racial equity and justice. We’re pleased to join together as congregations in this challenge, offering support and encouragement as people of faith seeking racial justice. We look forward to this shared opportunity as congregations, and pray for the Spirit to bless us in this meaningful challenge toward justice.
