On Sunday, July 7, Hope Church welcomed a delegation from the Al Amana Centre in Oman to morning worship and fellowship time. Justin Meyers (supported partly by one of our RCA mission shares) and long-time colleague and friend Mohammed Ali Al Shuaili operate the center, which focuses on bringing people of various faiths together to learn from and understand each other, thus encouraging them to work for peaceful and just solutions in challenging situations.

The group had completed an extended visit to West Michigan, taking photos of and writing reactions to what they experienced. The resulting PhotoVoice Exhibit in the Commons was a treasure to view and led to many meaningful conversations among delegates and Hope members. Take some time to view these photos and read some of the reflections written by the delegates. They are picturesque, delightful, and thought-provoking, as were many of the conversations they evoked.

We thank the Omani delegation for sharing some of their time with us. You can find out more about the work of Al Amana Centre at their website. Thanks also to Patty Brink and Judith Boogaart for taking photos.
