On June 26 during worship we will be celebrating Disability Awareness Sunday. As part of the day’s celebrations we will have representatives from the following agencies in town who provide supportive and educational services for those living with disabilities. Please stop by their tables after worship to learn more about each organization and to hear what opportunities for support or volunteering are needed to keep their work vital.

  • Disability Network/Lakeshore: Based in Holland, they’ve been serving people with disabilities, their families, and the wider Allegan and Ottawa County community since 1992.
  • ARC advocates for the rights and full participation of children and adults with cognitive impairments and development disabilities. ARC is a local training and information center on disability issues.
  • Benjamin’s Hope is an emerging non-profit organization dedicated to the creation of an embracing natural setting where people with disability and the community gather to find Christ-centered fellowship, treatment, housing, and meaningful work.
  • Camp Sunshine is a camp for people with developmental disabilities. On the shores of Lake Michigan, at Camp Blodgett, a safe inclusive atmosphere that embraces the campers’ physical, emotional, relational, spiritual, and recreational needs is offered.
  • Kandu Incorporated is a not-for-profit organization that couples a menu of business, product, and services offerings with an overarching mission of building work skills and creating opportunities for people with employment barriers.
