Hope Church, RCA, Holland, Michigan, seeks a part-time organist. This person will be a highly skilled professional who is an experienced church musician, conversant with musical literature for the organ, and well acquainted with and supportive of the Reformed Church forms of worship.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Leading the worship service as organist at all regular Sunday worship services and at special services such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Maundy Thursday, Easter, etc.
2. Assisting the Director of Music in worship planning, participating in worship ministry meetings, serving as the choir accompanist for weekly rehearsals, and other mutually agreed upon duties.
3. The Organist will have the first right of refusal for weddings and funerals. Compensation for these will be arranged privately and will not be the responsibility of Hope Church.
The Hope Church organ was built by the Reuter Organ Company and was installed in 1965. It contains 3 manuals, 4 divisions, 45 stops, 42 ranks, and utilizes electro-pneumatic action. The organ was refurbished in the 1980’s and the console upgraded to solid state in 1991. For more info, refer to the OHS Pipe Organ Database.
It is understood that the Organist will have full use of the instrument for private lessons.
