The deacons have decided to designate our Christmas Offering this year to two causes championed by Hope Church members.
Dan Fisher supports The Warm Hold Association in Vietnam. This network of volunteers has a passion for making a difference in the world. They are dedicated to help and support children with HIV/AIDS. It is said that it takes a village to raise a child. They become part of the village. And they help extend their village to a wider network of love and support. They work on a coordinated care approach that addresses both health and social needs. This is done either directly, or indirectly through strategic partnerships and through links and referrals with other service providers.
Germaine Pellebon-Smith supports La Pouponnièr, an orphanage in Dakar, Senagal, Africa. La Pouponnièr was founded by the Sisters of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary on August 5, 1955. The main activities in La Pouponnière are giving love to the baby, feeding, clothing, caring for and generally treating them in a way that helps them feel safe. Babies come to La Pouponnière two different ways: they are found abandoned or they are a problem for their family and are surrendered. They have the capacity to care for 40 babies between 4 to 12 months old and 46 babies birth to 4 months old for a total of 86 babies! Babies stay at La Pouponnière for the first year of life.
