We invite you to a daily “call to prayer” for the remaining days of this election season.
Together as a community of faith in Christ, we invite you to pray to pray each day at 12 noon up to and on Election Day, November 3.
We pray out of love for God and for our neighbors. We pray seeking the election of political leaders and the formation of political structures that support the Beloved Community that God intends for all. We are all invited to set an alert on our mobile device as a reminder
Together we are invited to pray that:
- God lifts up political leaders that seek justice and act with kindness and humility,
- Election officials and poll workers are safe and supported as they serve our communities,
- God gives discernment to us and our neighbors to elect people of wisdom, integrity, compassion, and with a servant’s heart,
- The Spirit’s gifts and fruits be evident in how we advocate for justice in our elections and how we speak about candidates who have put themselves forward for public service,
- God strengthens our hearts and voices to affirm the dignity and humanity of all people, including those with whom we disagree and who we see doing harm,
- God raises discerning, prophetic voices to speak to what is life-giving and to expose what is death-dealing,
- The Spirit forms our hearts and minds to embody the grace and gifts of Christ to our community/nation/world that God loves.
Join us in this call to prayer, nourished by the Spirit’s gifts and grace, and deepened by our own commitment to Christ’s call to love God and neighbor. For in such things, the law of God and the prophets of God are fulfilled.
