Thursday, July 29, at 7 p.m. at the Park Theatre, 248 South River, Holland, MI. This community showing of the film, Papers the Movie: Stories of Undocumented Youth, is to provide information about challenges faced by immigrant youth — brought to the U.S. as children — as they turn 18 without legal status. This is shown to encourage support for passage of the federal Dream Act.  The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act is bipartisan legislation introduced in Congress several times to create a path for these youth to earn legal residency by attending college or serving in the military. Local candidates for political office will be invited to state their position on the Dream Act.  There is no charge, but donations will be accepted. This notice is provided by the Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony.
