The Haiti mission trip is scheduled for April 4-11. Please let Ben Sikkink know this week if you would like to be part of this challenging but rewarding venture. We will meet Sunday, February 7 at 12:15 pm to complete necessary paperwork and make other preparations.

There is also another immediate opportunity to help Haiti Foundation Against Poverty. Last year Herman Miller donated a couple of industrial sewing machines and a lot of fabric for the Gift of Hope women’s program. Marilyn Strobel and others have been working to find a way to get all of that shipped to Haiti. Herman Miller has now offered to pay the costs of shipping a container to Haiti, and HFAP is working hard to fill the container. We will not be gathering a collection at church. Instead please ship any items you wish to send to Marilyn or to the boutique which HFAP recently opened in Midland (addresses below). The most requested items are in the following list but HFAP also has a wishlist on Amazon which can be accessed from the link below or from their haitipoverty.org website. The nice thing about the wishlist is that you can order directly off of that without doing a lot of searching for each item. You could also donate money through the web site and they will purchase the items they are most in need of. Items are needed by Tuesday, February 2. Please keep in mind that as with all cargo shipping to Haiti, the container could sit in customs for a while so anything sent must be able to withstand storage in high temperatures.
