Greetings to my Hope Church family! As the new Parish Nurse, I’d like to share my vision and commitment to the good health of all of us- BODY, MIND and SPIRIT.
Please note my recommendations of what a Parish Nurse is and how I can help – along with our wonderful Health Ministry Team.
The parish nurse is a health educator, a health counselor, a guide to community resources, an emotional support in times of crisis, a prayer warrior, an encourager and a guide to healing . All these things are done in faith and with compassion.
Parishioners of all ages need help coping with everyday life, stress and their many health challenges. I am dedicated to assist in the process of meeting the needs of seniors, families, adolescents and children.
When to call the Parish Nurse:
- If you or a family member is sick
- If you don’t understand something your doctor has told you
- If you are concerned about your parent, children, family members or friends
- If you are lonely
- If you are feeling overwhelmed
- If you or someone you know is having surgery
- If you are dealing with a loss or death
- If you are in need of prayer
- If you are struggling with a relationship
- If you are looking for ways to improve your health
- If you need someone to listen
The connection of physical, emotional, relational and spiritual wellness is very powerful. Please see the wheel above for a guide to evaluating your overall health.
“ Thy faith has made you whole. Go in peace.” Luke 8:48
“ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30
