After a hiatus last year (as our facilities were being renovated!), Community Ministry is bringing back the ever-popular Think Hope Silent Auction. This evening of fine food, fellowship and fun will be held this year to benefit CompRenew, a local non-profit that offers technology education using pre-cycled electronics. This designation had been made in consultation with our Caring for Creation Ministry, and more information about CompRenew will be available at the Think Hope event.
So the date is set for you to mark your calendar, but the key to Think Hope is your creative donations! You can start now to craft or collect your donations to the silent auction! To inspire you, past-year items that reflect the creativity and talents of our members have been knitted scarves, hand-sewn grocery bags, original artwork, cakes and pies, ethnic dinners, boat rides, and babysitting and carpentry services. We’re planning a delicious dinner along with an evening’s entertainment (the rumor is that square-dancing may return!), and you provide the items and the bids.
Watch for more communications about ticket sales and logistics for delivering your contribution! And plan to join us for a celebration of our members, their gifts, and our support for a vital organization in our community.
