Greetings Hope Church!
My name is Katie Norris and I already feel so welcomed by the staff at Hope Church. I am eager to meet all of you and discover the wonderful activities and ministries that Hope is involved in. I am excited to work alongside such a positive and supportive staff and anxious to see what we can accomplish together.
I have lived in Holland most of my life and graduated from Calvin College more than a few years ago :). I have always enjoyed working in the field of Human Services and have a special place in my heart for those most in need in our community. I feel strongly about being inclusive and welcoming to everyone, no matter their circumstances.
For the past three years, I have been working as a Family Services Advocate for Head Start; a free preschool for low-income families. I loved working with the families and helping them connect with resources. Sometimes people needed tangible help and other times they just wanted an encouraging word and an understanding heart. I felt honored to be a support to the people in our community.
Holland is an amazing city and I love having my family live, work, and play here. We take full advantage of all the festivals, parades, and parks that Holland has to offer. If you visit Kollen Park, you probably have seen our sons in the trees, on the playground, or catching fish. I am hoping to learn more about everything Hope Church is already doing to connect with our community, and I feel blessed and thankful for this amazing opportunity.
