If you enjoy listening to preludes and postludes each week at Hope Church, and would like the chance to hear more of Rhonda’s playing wherever you are, you are in luck! Rhonda has just self-produced a CD, recorded last year in Chicago, and it is available for $15 from her. Entitled “Subtlety and Sparkle: Rhonda Sider Edgington and the Wahl Organ and Augustana Lutheran”, it was recorded on a new instrument in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago. Wahl Organbuilders is a small, family-run company located in Appleton, Wisconsin. Rhonda met the Wahls at organ conventions over a decade ago, and they asked her to play the dedication recital of this new instrument in 2013. This is a small but lovely organ, with colorful stops and a clarity of sound that reminds Rhonda of the organs she loved in Germany.

The CD program contains mostly German music – ranging from the Baroque to Romantic – as well as one modern American piece, written by the former Music Director at Augustana, as a commission for the dedication concert. Rhonda still has copies of a previously produced CD, available as well, for the bargain (we have to get these out of our house) price of $10 – French Organ Music of the 19th and 20th Century – recorded in 2004 in Oak Park, Illinois.
