Racing Extinction follows an impassioned team that goes undercover to expose the hidden world of endangered species and the race to protect them. From Academy Award-winning director Louie Psihoyos and the team behind The Cove, this groundbreaking documentary examines biodiversity loss, its effect on humanity and solutions that inspire hope for a more sustainable future.

Our era, called the Anthropocene, or “Age of Man,” shows that humans have sparked a cataclysmic change of the world’s natural environment and animal life, and that we are the only ones who can stop it. This film documents the extent of those changes on our animal populations, with an emphasis on oceanic wildlife.

The showing is being sponsored by several local groups, including West Michigan Creation Care, GreenMichigan.org, the Hope Green Team, Grace Episcopal Church and the Holland/Hope College Sustainability Institute. Attendance is free. The reception begins at 6 pm, with the film at 6:45 pm and the panel discussion follows the movie. Graves Hall is handicapped accessible at the rear entry.
