The folks who moved Camp Sunshine into place achieved a Team Best Time! Thanks to Ben, Kay, Dan, David, Barb, Dan, Cindi, Gary, Bill, and Chris for their energy and good humor.
On Monday, August 6, at noon, we need to move Camp Sunshine supplies and equipment from Camp Blodgett back to the storage unit north of Holland. We have a solid start on a team, but we’ll need two or three more people if we’re going to sustain our Olympic-level performance.
What we’re moving is the “stuff” that you need for a camp that accommodates people with various abilities: tubs and boxes of craft supplies, a large drum, signs, pool steps, wheelchairs, walkers, lifts, bathroom chairs, movable lawn chairs; the largest, heaviest item is an eight-foot-long box on rollers full of tents. Most of the items go into a box truck rented for the occasion, but if you come with an empty truck bed, trailer, trunk or backseat, it may be put to use.
If you can help on Monday, August 6, at noon for an hour or two, please contact Lois Maassen (or Chris Wiers after August 2) directly or by using the “contact” form on this website.
