The time is fast approaching for Women’s Service Day, a community volunteer event on Thursday, October 4. If you were unable to volunteer for a whole morning or afternoon, there are still ways you can be involved:

  • Order pigs in the blanket as part of a fundraiser for Nuestra Casa (note pigs must be picked up on October 4).
  • Drop off donations at Hope Church on Wednesday or Thursday for Breakfast with Baby, a local outreach program hosted by New Community/Fourth Reformed Church for young mothers with limited resources. Especially needed are diapers, wipes, and new clothing in sizes newborn to 2T. Also welcome are crib sheets, baby lotions, receiving blankets, and blankets.
  • If you have an hour at lunchtime, join us for lunch at Hope Church and participate in the silent auction and raffle, both to benefit Nuestra Casa. Meet other women, hear stories about the morning’s work, and get the flavor of the event!

Lois Maassen is also still looking for a couple more volunteers to help serve and clean up after the lunch; contact her if you could spare some time and energy from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hope Church on October 4.
