As the Hope Church Co-Ed Softball Team looks ahead to next year’s season, we are searching for a new coach. After many seasons leading and pitching, Coach Bob Jerow is retiring. The team would like to say a big “thank you” to Coach Bob. Even though the team didn’t win every game (we did win a few over the years…), for four consecutive years we have received the “Spirit of the League” award (an award for good, fun sportsmanship). This was in large part due to Bob’s camaraderie on the pitching mound. More often than not, he would give instructions on a stance, or how to hold a bat, to help a member from the other team. His focus was to have fun, and let everyone have a chance to play the game…if it worked out that we could win as well – that was always a special treat! We would also like to say “thank you” to Michelle and Steve Johnson for opening their home on so many occasions for after softball game get-togethers!
