The spirituality of these Lenten texts is discovered in the everyday elements of creation. These stories don’t take us away from the tumult of life but reveal God present in the midst of the stories that are unfolding around us and the elements that ground us.

Join Early Worship at 8:30 AM on the 1st Sunday of Lent, March 5, for their first worship time in the new chapel!

Wednesday Evening Lent Series

During the Season of Lent, you are invited to join in worship, discussion and creative response as we explore the book Prophetic Lament by Soong-Chan Rah. Prophetic Lament uses the Old Testament book of Lamentations as a framework to explore the history of race, Christianity and economy in the United States. The book draws on the power of biblical lament to face a broken history and to open us to God’s transforming presence personally and corporately.

Rather than simply a book discussion, this Wednesday evening Lent series will be a time to worship, reflect and respond together in the spirit of biblical lament. We will gather each evening in the Chapel for prayer, then explore a chapter of the book, and then respond creatively through writing and reflection. Along with Hope Church, other congregations in our community are also engaging with this book, and we will have opportunities later on to hear from those communities.

All are invited to be a part of this Lenten experience. Please sign up for the group in the gathering area. Books are available for $15. Nursery care will be provided.
