May 19 is less than two weeks away, which means it’s time to buy your tickets for the auction and dinner or donate your auction items–or–we hope!–both!
Think Hope 2012 will spotlight our youth: During dinner, they’ll share presentations on their travels and adventures on the Appalachian Trail and to Greenpoint Reformed Church, in Brooklyn, New York; an all-out talent show will follow dinner; and the proceeds from the evening will support Greenpoint Reformed and scholarships to assure that all of our youth can continue to participate in these life-shaping opportunities. John Jerow and Bethany Wiersma will emcee the evening.
Doors open for the Think Hope bidding and appetizers at 5 p.m. and a trail-inspired dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Concerned about what “trail-inspired” means? No worries! It’s trail inspired, not trail constrained! No one will be backpacking in the ingredients, and we’ll happily use the full Hope Church kitchen for preparation!
Purchase tickets ($12 per person) to attend the event next Sunday in the Gathering Area or before then from the church office. Feel free to invite a friend or two for an evening of food and conversation.
Contribute to the silent auction items that reflect your gifts and talents. Some ideas: certificates for homemade food; handcrafted clothing, household, or gift items; art; literature; or certificates for specialized services from babysitting to landscaping to carpentry to closet organizing! To donate, pick up a form in the Gathering Area or church office; deliver your auction item by May 13. If your auction item is perishable or not quite complete, please turn in a form by May 13 so we know it’s coming.
Plan to bid on auction items!
Hope to see you there for an evening of entertainment, fellowship, and support for our youth!
(P.S. If you’re unable to get to church to pick up donation forms or buy tickets, use the “contact us” tab on this website to let us know; we can reserve tickets or plan for your donation.)
