Hope Church member Todd Kamstra, ZPS counselor and advocate for the be nice. program, received the Elizabeth Sarafis Live, Laugh, Love Recognition Award at the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan annual event. The award recognizes Kamstra’s dedication and commitment towards mental health awareness and the be nice. program.

Elizabeth Sarafis served on the Mental Health Foundation Board of Directors from 1998 until she passed away after her battle with cancer in 2012, at the age of 91. Sarafis exemplified what it means to be a true advocate for those struggling with a mental illness, as well as those who have lost a loved one to suicide.

The Elizabeth Sarafis Live, Laugh, Love special recognition award is given each year to a person who demonstrates the mission of the Mental Health Foundation in their everyday life and is recognized for going above and beyond to educate and bring awareness to mental health, stigma reduction, and suicide prevention.
