Rode and her husband Endrias are from the Ethiopian Lutheran Church, and
joined us at Hope Church in 2016 while Rode attended Western Seminary. Since
that time, Hope Church has continued to provide support through our
Community Partners Budget as Rode has continued her studies; they seek to
return to Ethiopia to provide holistic support to women and children.

from Rode:

Hello friends, I am organizing this gofundme account to support my parents.
Please there is no demand for participating. I am sharing the struggle of my
parents with lots of love as part of the community in Ethiopia and also as a
daughter. Thank you for understanding:

Pastor Shewaye Molla  ( my father) was diagnosed with CKD, which leads to
kidney failure, recently. In Ethiopia, where he lives, there is no organized
health care system; he pays for all the treatments, including dialysis,
which costs 10,000 Ethiopian birrs every week. For the last eight months, he
spent more than half a million Ethiopian birr through family and close
relatives’ support to cover dialysis and related treatments.

Right now, dialysis and kidney transplant are the only options that can
support Pastor Molla’s survival. Again there are minimal ways to do the
kidney transplant in Ethiopia, and he may need to go abroad to doing the
transplant, which may cost more than 30,000 USD.

Churches and communities, and friends in Ethiopia organized a care system
for him. So, as part of the community and church and a daughter, I create
this go fund account to support my parents.

Pastor Molla served in the church and community since his childhood.  For
the last twenty years, he worked for social change and stability of the
community with churches, national and international NGOs to build schools
and child development projects, awareness on HIV and AIDS, and gender
education.
