The worship service is broadcast inside the room just in case you need to accompany your little one there.<\/p>\n<h4>Children&#8217;s Time Before Worship<\/h4>\n<p>From 9:40 to 10:40 a.m., September through May, children are invited to connect with each other, their leaders, Bible stories, and their families. Preschoolers through fifth-graders can begin each Sunday morning together for an exciting presentation of a Bible story and some singing and worship time. Then the children divide into smaller groups by age to continue to learn about the story with age-appropriate activities and ways to connect the story to their lives.<\/p>\n<h4>Welcoming Children to Worship<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hopechurchrca.org\/\/\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/WordWithChildren.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1065 alignright\" title=\"WordWithChildren\" src=\"https:\/\/hopechurchrca.org\/\/\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/WordWithChildren.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"278\" \/><\/a>Children are very much part of our worshiping community. Their presence is based on Biblical tradition and the Reformed belief that children belong to this covenant community. Worshiping together helps children<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Know they belong to Christ and are welcome in God\u2019s church<\/li>\n<li>Hear stories from the Bible read and interpreted, and begin to experience worship as a place where God may speak to them<\/li>\n<li>Experience the drama of baptism and the Lord\u2019s Supper\u2014the visible means of God\u2019s grace.<\/li>\n<li>Experience the beauty of music and art as creative expressions of praise to God<\/li>\n<li>Learn the Lord\u2019s Prayer, the Doxology, and other frequently used responses<\/li>\n<li>Build memories of shared experience in Christian community<\/li>\n<li>Discover they are valued by God and all God\u2019s people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the 11 a.m. Sanctuary Worship, following \u201cA Word with the Children\u201d from the minister, children three years of age through fifth grade are given the option to leave the sanctuary, escorted by Children in Worship leaders, and continue their worship in age-group worship centers. The children continue their worship by listening to God\u2019s word, praising God in song, hearing the stories of God and responding in their own ways, and praying together in community. Fourth- and fifth-graders (and others as families choose) remain in the sanctuary when Communion is served.<\/p>\n<p>The bulletin lists each week\u2019s stories to help families discuss children\u2019s experience in Children in Worship.<\/p>\n<h4>Children&#8217;s Choirs<\/h4>\n<p>Children\u2019s Choirs take place seasonally. Watch announcements in the newsletter, bulletins, and on the <a href=\"https:\/\/hopechurchrca.org\/\/\/index.php\/church-calendar\/\">calendar<\/a> for rehearsal times.<\/p>\n<h4>FTT\u00a0(Family Time Together)<\/h4>\n<p>This group emerged from the former PACT (Parents and Children\u00a0Together). This group is open to all Hope Church families with\u00a0children of any age. The group will meet periodically throughout\u00a0the year for various family-oriented times together. Events may\u00a0include Game Night\/Game Day, Pancake dinner and celebration\u00a0(Shrove Tuesday), and other opportunities for families to spend time\u00a0together and with one another. Look for specific dates, events, and\u00a0times in newsletters, bulletins and on the Hope Church website.
