Bridge Club<\/h4>\n

Even if you haven’t played bridge since you learned how in college, you will find it’s still as fun as you remembered. This group plays solely for the fun of it — no fierce competition, just good camaraderie.<\/span><\/p>\n

Conversation & Cocktails<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Meeting monthly; the second Sunday of each month from 7:00PM to 8:30PM. Group members take turns hosting the group. Each month, the hosts will provide a \u201cFeatured Cocktail\u201d (one per guest please), a light snack, and non-alcoholic beverages. A discussion topic will be decided upon by the hosting couple and shared with the attendees in advance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Creation Care<\/a><\/h4>\n

This group explores the intersection of faith and environmental care, with an emphasis on direct experience of nature as an essential component of spiritual growth, and on lifestyle critique as a spiritual discipline. Contact the office for more information or to get involved.<\/p>\n

Gentlemen of a Certain Age<\/h4>\n

Gentlemen of a Certain Age is one of Hope Church\u2019s many reading groups. Conversations center on, and soon spin away from, assigned chapters of a book that the group has been reading through at a pace of around 50 pages per week. The Gents gather to befriend one another, laugh and listen to each other, and do those things that make life meaningful in our retirement years. Boundaries do not exist. Everyone is warmly welcomed on Thursday mornings from 9AM to 10:30 in the Youth Room.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hope Church Readers<\/h4>\n

This group meets regularly on the 3rd Wednesday\u00a0of each month at 1:00 PM in Commons 2 for a monthly book discussion.\u00a0 Someone takes a turn leading the discussion while another member provides the refreshments and hospitality for the day.\u00a0 The reading list for the coming program year is created by member suggestions each spring.\u00a0 Contact Lauren Heyboer for more information.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s Breakfast<\/h4>\n

Men’s breakfast meets faithfully at 6:30 a.m. every Wednesday. This group has been meeting for 60+ years. Men\u2019s breakfast is always open to visitors and new members.\u00a0 They take turns making breakfast for the group in pairs. Each morning includes fellowship over breakfast and then a topical study with interactive discussion.<\/p>\n

Pub Theology<\/a><\/h4>\n

An offshoot of our young adult programming, Pub Theology is a group that meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30, usually at Brew Merchant on Washington Avenue. \u00a0This theologically and generationally diverse group meets over snacks to discuss how the issues of the world connect with our lives, with God and each other. \u00a0All ages, backgrounds, and beliefs are welcome. Pub Theology meets during the program year from September through the end of May. If you\u2019d like to be on the Pub Theology email list, sign up here<\/a>. This thread goes out every Wednesday and updates with the topics we’ll be discussing.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Social Crafting
\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Crafting meets at church on the second Tuesday of each month from 2-3:30pm. Conversation flows as each person works on their own art or craft.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

REST Support Group<\/strong><\/h4>\n

REST is a group that meets from 11am-12:30pm the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. It is for those seeking support in various areas of their lives. The group welcomes people who live with any number of struggles, though many of the participants are caregivers and\/or grievers REST is an acronym for: Rest, Empathy, Share, and Thanksgiving.<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Circles<\/h4>\n

Women’s Circles meet either the first or second Wednesday of each month. These are ongoing groups that have a combination of long term members and newcomers.\u00a0 Both Circles welcome visitors and new members.<\/p>\n

Circle 1<\/strong> comes together to learn about God using curriculum resources from Presbyterian Women. They also learn about one another by listening to individual perspectives and experiences. Participants share leading the Bible study, providing snacks, or providing a ride. Circle One supports two missionaries, one in Kenya and one in Madagascar. Time is set aside for sharing joys and concerns, and cards expressing care are often signed and sent.<\/span> Circle 1 meets at 10:00 a.m.<\/p>\n

Circle 4<\/strong> is a women’s Bible study group that meets on the second Wednesday of each month (September through June) at 7:00 p.m. in Commons 2 at church. This year they are reading United through Christ, Bound to Each Other: Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians. Books can be purchased at the meeting or by stopping at the office from 9am-4pm.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
