I’ve been so grateful for its theologically rich worship life, its position in the community as a church that has room for all, its commitment to justice work and care for creation, and its hospitality toward those who come through the doors.

I have been blessed by such a warm welcome already as my role in the church evolves and I look forward to growing in relationship as we all walk the road ahead together.

Could you describe your sense of call for this ministry?

I have felt a call toward pastoral ministry for a significant portion of my life. Sometimes it was a nudge easily ignored, sometimes a shove down a hill, and other times a trusting walk along a path being rolled out. That call has looked very different in various seasons. It’s looked like working in a coffee shop, playing music in churches and on the street, and engaging in the curious work of seminary. Throughout all of those pursuits the core tenets of radical hospitality, an ever-curious search for beauty within creation, and a desire to communicate the boundless love of God have defined my calling. I’m excited to have followed that same call to Hope Church and look forward to the road ahead.

What interests and gifts do you hope to incorporate into programs at Hope Church?

I am an avid musician and play a variety of instruments (guitar, penny whistle, \\percussion, mandolin, uilleann pipes, etc.) with various degrees of skill. I am also a theatre artist and have found application for that art form within the church in scripture enactments, liturgical movement, and biblical performance criticism. I’m excited to bring these intrinsically hospitable artistic elements to bear in my work with young folks and to the worship life of Hope Church.

What are you looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to growing deeper in my understanding of the Hope Church community. I’m excited to engage with the young folks of Hope Church and grow together in faith and community. I hope for rich connections around music and worship and look forward to building relationships around the curious thin space that is made when crafting music together.

If you’ll be out of town this Sunday, and will miss the reception after church and opportunity to meet Rev.
