Beginning March 29, Hope Church provides several opportunities for praise, meditation, worship, and fellowship to enrich your experience of Holy Week.
Palm Sunday sanctuary worship at 11 a.m. begins with fanfare and praise and then moves into “Worship for the Way of the Cross,” a dramatic reading with congregational and choral singing. It is a meditative and moving remembrance of Jesus’ final days on earth.
Holy Thursday on April 2 features the Seder potluck at 6 p.m. The Seder liturgy is a commemoration of Jewish history and of the Passover supper that Jesus and his disciples celebrated the night before his death. If you wish to participate in this potluck, please sign up by March 31 here.
Seder is followed at 7:45 p.m. by a Tenebrae worship service that includes scripture and readings, music, communion, and the gradual extinguishing of candles to portray Jesus’ last hours on earth.
Hope Church joins other congregations for a community Good Friday worship service on April 3, held at 12 p.m. at Maple Avenue Ministries, 427 Maple Avenue, in Holland. All are invited for this time of meditation and remembrance of Jesus’ death.
On Sunday, April 5, the celebration begins with an Easter Brunch potluck at 9:40 a.m. Please bring your favorite breakfast food (muffins, fruit, egg dish, etc.) and begin our joyous time together by sharing a meal. Worship follows at 11 a.m. All are welcome to this celebration of Jesus’ resurrection and new life in Christ!
