After seven months, Hope Church celebrates the return of the newly renovated organ. It looks shiny and new and beautiful! It will debut at All Saints Day worship at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

The restoration has been a fascinating process, shepherded by a talented and committed team. We are grateful for:

  • the vision and organization of Dan Fisher
  • the skill and musical leadership of organist Rhonda Edgington
  • the encouragement and persistence of Paul Elzinga
  • the expert restoration advice and loan of a temporary organ from Trevor Dodd
  • the communication and administrative skills of Pastor Gordon
  • the support of church staff—especially Bruce Ten Haken—during the disruption.
The beginning stages of the restoration in late spring.

The Buzard organ renovation team has done an incredible job with skill, patience, and a wonderfully friendly spirit. As the organ “settles in” to the chancel again, they may come back for some final tweaks.  Rhonda’s brief preview on October 27 showed, the organ is ready to go, and our tears, smiles and applause showed we are all ready to welcome it back into our worship again.

Thank you to Hope Church members and friends who wholeheartedly supported this project with your encouragement, your monetary support, and your flexibility in worship during this interim period. Rhonda Edgington is planning an extended prelude for November 3, so come a little earlier than usual to enjoy it.
